  • HAWA MAHAL

    Monsoon

    The Hawa Mahal or ‘Palace of Winds’, a red & pink sandstone pyramid shaped structure, is the epitome of Rajputana architecture. It is decorated with intricately designed windows and was constructed during the reign of Maharaja Sawai Pratap Singh, of the Kachhwaha Rajput dynasty, as a tribute to Lord Krishna.

  • JANTAR MANTAR

    The country’s largest ancient astronomical observatory was built by the founder of the city, Maharaja Jai Singh II. It was the place where the greatest of astronomical minds convened to discuss and exchange their observations of the incredible and majestic cosmos. A thinker and an inquisitive mind, the Maharaja reveled in the company of these scholars. The conservatory also hosts the largest sundial in the world.

  • AMBER FORT

    Monsoon

    Build on the banks of the Maotha Lake, Amber or Amer fort was once the capital of the Rajput state. The fort is made of red sandstone and marble and shows a strong influence of Hindu and Muslim architecture. This beautiful structure was built in 1592 A.D. by Raja Man Singh and has withstood the test of time and countless invasions to still exude its regality with grace.

  • JAIGARH FORT

    On the pinnacle of the ‘Cheel Ka Teela’ is a red sandstone fort built by Sawan Jai Singh II. The strong foundations and the splendid architecture with intricate carvings epitomize the Rajputana architecture as the fort still stands in its full glory atop the peak, like a jeweled crown. It offers a breathtaking view of the capital and is connected to the Amber Fort by cavernous tunnels.
